I am sure you have all seen those ticker tape, marquee or news ticker type displays. They’re a convenient way to display multiple headlines in a small space. The animation associated with them also increases user interest and often holds the user at the site until the display has completed at least one cycle. We have made the creation of this type of display easy with the introduction of the new Menu_tickertape component.
The Imageshere menu component is already in the latest SWiSH Max3 release (build 20091130), but you can download it for miniMax3 too (see the link below). We’ve updated the online component documentation so its time to tell you about this exciting new component that is also featured in Gallery_003.
Based on the Menu_wordsphere component, this menu component displays thumbnail images in a novel way.
Vista users will be aware of the sidebar and the gadgets that it can contain. Although the sidebar has been dismissed by many as a hog of screen real estate, I personally think it is quite useful. I suspect that most SWiSH’ers are not aware of how easy it is to make great looking sidebar gadgets using SWiSH Max2 or SWiSH miniMax2.
